The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading national professional, non-profit making society for the technical education system in our country, with the motto of career development of teachers and personality development of students and the overall development of the technical education system. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.
Being the only national organisation of educators in the field of engineering and technology, ISTE contributes effectively to various missions of the Union Government. Its strength is the strong base it has in technical education institutions across the country.
The ISTE Karnataka Section is one of the most active state sections, covering technical institutions in Karnataka. It serves as a bridge between national educational policy and local implementation, ensuring the benefits of ISTE reach every corner of the state.
The Section office is hosted at CIT Engineering College Campus, Gubbi, Tumkur, and regularly organises faculty development programmes, student activities, seminars and workshops to raise the quality of technical education.
ISTE organises an annual convention for faculty and students every year, where technocrats, technical teachers, policy makers and industry experts participate and interact, along with a national seminar on a specific theme.
